Sennheiser Wireless Headphones

Sennheiser Wireless headphones: RS 180 wireless headphone system

This is like the front-row seat at a concert or movie! The RS 180 Sennheiser wireless headphone system brings you amazing musical realism from a pair of wireless headphones. The package has sennehiser wireless headphones (HDR 180 model) together with a multi-purpose transmitter (TX 180) which is, as with other sennheiser products, a charging cradle and docking station.

The sennheiser wireless RS 180 wireless headphones makes watching movie and TV marathons a totally different experience, with the astounding capacity of Automatic Level Control to automatically compensate for any variance in volume. This enhances the intelligibility of speech through the headphones, and all you have to do is set the level to a comfortable volume for you and then let ALC do the rest. The RS 180 uses the new KLEER uncompressed radio-frequency digital wireless audio transmission (which sounds as though it could be cable-wired), giving you a massive range of up to 320 feet, audiophile-headphone-grade sound quality and reception to as many as four pairs of Sennheiser KLEER headphones. You will not have to tune more than once, because of the automatic, interference-free link between the sennheiser wireless headphones and the transmitter.

The “Open-Aire” speaker system on these wireless headphones gives you control of your experience, which means you get natural sounding wireless audio in complete privacy. Sennheiser wireless 180 headphones even have balance control to offer the ultimate listening experience! With luxury velour earpads, comfortable headband cushions, and an adjustable headset, you get the greatest comfort no matter how long you listen for….your ticket to superb listening are these superb sennehiser wireless headphones – the RS 180.

KLEER uncompressed digital RF audio transmission gives interference free reception while the superb Open-Aire speaker system is like hi-fi speakers, offering a super-real sound quality.

Sennheiser wireless headphone KLEER technology does not interact with other wireless networks or 2.4 gHz devices, but it is an OPEN headphone — which means you need to turn off your TV or Hi-Fi’s main speakers to stop any ”echo” (latency). If you don’t, you get two audio sources at slightly different times, thereby producing an echo. Also, you can’t use them for recording or tracking, nor can you use them for monitoring or practice when the performer is wearing the headphones while playing.

The Sennheiser Brand

Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co, to give it its full name, is a private German electronics company, which produces a wide range of products for both the consumer and business markets. The product range includes microphones, headphones, telephone accessories and avionics headsets.

The company was founded in 1945, just after World War II, by Fritz Sennheiser (1912–2010), a graduate of the University of Hannover in a laboratory called Laboratorium Wennebostel in the village of Wennebostel, and was originally called Labor W after the place of work. Its first product was a voltmeter. In 1946 the company started producing microphones and later expanded its range to include headphones and other pieces of equipment. By 1958, the company had 250 employees and was renamed ‘Sennheiser Electronic’. It became a limited partnership (Kommanditgesellschaft) in 1973. In 1980, the company started to produce aviation headsets with Lufthansa as its major customer. The wireless microphones appeared in 1981. In 1982, Fritz Sennheiser retired leaving his son, Jörg Sennheiser, as manager.

Sennheiser now has 2,100 employees and has factories in Burgdorf in Germany, Tullamore in Ireland and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Research and Development facilities are located in Germany and Palo Alto, California. The company has sales branches in the UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, India, Singapore, Canada, Mexico and the USA. Its product range includes microphones, aviation headsets, multimedia headsets, micro-hifi systems, surround sound amplifiers and conference and information systems.

Sennheiser’s biggest selling line is the Sennheiser headphone. They have the largest market share in the headphone and earphone range. Their array of products covers everything from ear buds to sports headphones for jogging and cycling, through to full size Hi-Fi models. They supply specialist headphones for helicopter and jet pilots, and the family headphone for domestic use.

Sennheiser are undoubtedly market leaders, but you may ask are their products the best. In my experience they are very good indeed, hard wearing, with first-rate sound quality even with the cheaper models in the range. Sennheiser products are characterised by meticulous attention to detail. Rubberized speaker parts are hermetically sealed at the seams where water could infiltrate. The headphones have soft rubber earpieces for maximum comfort. No item leaves the factory until it has been through the most scrupulous quality control. I find the prices affordable and good value for money. But when buying, take care! There are many fake Sennheiser models available. I have seen cheap so-called Sennheiser headphones offered at knock down prices. They look like the real thing but when you try them out, the sound quality is rubbish. So always buy from a reputable high street store or on the Internet where your credit card purchases are protected.
